Brashear at Knox County January 28, 2008

The Eagles sweep the visiting Tigers in a pair of non-conference games.

The Knox County Lady Eagles took control of the game early leading 16-4 after one quarter and 25-12 at halftime. Brashear was still down 37-24 after 3 quarters, but mounted a rally in the 4th that brought them within 3 points before Knox pulled away for the 42-34 win. For Brashear Hailee Kelsey led all scorers with 14 points including a 12-14 performance from the charity stripe. Stephanie Elsea and Jessi Hill added 8 points each, and Emily Ladwig and Caroline Slavin scored 2 points each. For Knox County, Stacey Leckbee, Tessa Ramer, and Lorrie Peters had 8 each, Amanda Woods had 7, Katie Ausmus and Becca Mallett had 3 each, Myra Parrish and Amber Ausmus had 2 each, and Caley Palmer scored 1 point.

The boys' game also saw Knox County jump out to an early lead of 19-11 after 1 period of play and 38-19 at halftime. The Eagles extended their lead to 61-29 after 3 quarters on their way to a 73-45 victory. Trae Treasure scored 14 for Brashear, Kale Watson added 12, Matt Thomas had 10, Kiley Watson had 4, Justin Hazen and David Anderson scored 2 points each, and Anthony Ambrosia had 1 point. For Knox County, Dennis Dent had 20 points, Cory Shultz had 17, Daniel McMahon had 14, Zach Parrish scored 9, Ethan Hustead had 5, Brett Wilkerson scored 3, Shane Clouse and Mitchel Penn had 2 each, and John Greenley scored 1 point.
